No. Google will not ban you for having a high CTR, IF you follow these procedures. Let’s put it this way. Google wants you to have a high CTR, why? because a high CTR for you, means Google is making money. What can trigger some concerns on Google’s end, is when all of a sudden your CTR sharply increases from “x” amount to “x” amount.
Example – You have a website that is steadily producing a 5% click through rate. All of a sudden, one day that CTR goes to 80%. That is a red flag on Google’s end because the first thing that could come to mind is that someone is repeatedly clicking on ads to either cause harm, or to gain revenue. Although theis clearly could be the case of no foul play, it can happen.
What you should do
If you have a sudden surge in CTR send Google AdSense a quick email saying you have a sudden surge in CTR. If your website gets featured on some high traffic web sites, that can drive tons of traffic, let them know, it is better to be safe than sorry.
On your end, keep an eye and monitor the CTR, it is normal to fluctuate, but when it sky rockets, there is cause to investigate.
