Ok, here we are. The most important step in making money with Google AdSense. The sign up process. If you do not currently have a website, you will need to work on that part first and then return to this lesson. The reason being, is Google AdSense is based upon placing advertisement content on your website. If you do not have a website, the advertisements can not live anywhere. So, Google has a requirement that you need to have a website first. You can see my lesson on Building your First Website to get going on that first.
If you do have a website, lets begin. Head over to The official Google AdSense website. From there you can sign up. Lets take a look at the signup process. Before you go through the process of signing up, here are a few things to guarantee an acceptance to Google AdSense.
- Make sure to have plenty of content on your website
- Make sure not to have any pornography, illegal material
The very first question they ask, is, what is your website. When recieving this registration form, somebody on the Google team will physicly look over your content and either approve, or deny you for the Google AdSense service. Don’t worry. as long as you have some content on your website and follow the guidelines you will have no problem at all.The second thing they want to know is the laguage of your content. This is probably for some sampling on their end and even targeting correct ads to your website.
There are a couple big no-no’s with Google AdSense. First is never tell people to click on your ads. By doing so, you are breaking their Terms of Service, and will result in termination of your Google AdSense account forever.
TIP: Do not test Google with tricks. They will catch you and you will be sorry in the long run. If you follow the rules and play the right way, you will benefit far better.
The last big no-no is no pornographic content. Why? Think of it this way. You are an advertiser for X company, your ads appear on a pornographic website, that is very bad for the reputation of that advertiser. It can really hurt the brand of that company. Google and the advertiser will have non of that so that is a reason for immediate termination of your Google AdSense account. There are also some other no-no’s but you can read the Terms of Service to see them. Reading and aggreing to the Terms of Service is also mandatory for signing up.
Outside of that, they just ask for your noromal sign up info. Your name and addres, contact info, how you heard about use etc and so on. The very last three things are, aggreing not to click on your own ads, aggreing that you have read the Google AdSense policies, and lastly that you do not currently have a Google AdSense account. Sorry, only one per Tax ID number.
Lastly, submit the form. Once google looks over your information, you will recieve and email notification stating whether you have been accepted or not. If you are, there will be a link supplied to get into your Google AdSense account. If you ere denied, they will tell you why, the main reason usually is lack of content. If you want to be accepted, make sre you have pleantly of content on your website already.
